In anticipation of the projected increase in the number of academics and students, the University of Cambridge, Department of Engineering, will undergo a phased reintegration of its entire operations at the West Cambridge site over the next 10-15 years.
The initial project receiving funding is the Civil Engineering Building, intended to accommodate various Civil Engineering research groups.
The Civil Engineering building is design to meet high environmental standards and integrates some of the latest innovations in infrastructure and building monitoring technology within its engineering design.
This project notably features the application of thermochromic glass fins externally, marking the first use of such technology in the university’s construction projects.
